There are so many different places where you can go shopping for makeup, it’s low key overwhelming. But each place is going to offer you different prices, different selections of products, different brands, etc. I would also ask you, are you shopping for yourself, a friend, or are you a makeup professional looking for items to (re)stock your kit? Let’s chat about different places to shop for makeup.
For a beauty enthusiast shopping for themselves, these are the places i’d go to if you’re trying to stay within budget.
Makeup is makeup and it’s always going to be an investment, so be aware that prices are definitely going to be higher if you want better quality products. There are obviously exceptions of brands with good products and affordable prices, which you can find at the stores I mentioned previously.
If you have a bigger budget and you don’t mind spending a little more, but for a bigger variety of product, i’d recommend:
These stores feature a lot more brands and a more broad variety of products. Prices definitely vary, but are definitely a little bit more up there.
If your cup of tea is more high end retailers, make sure to check out.
They carry more high end and luxury brands, but the products are definitely pricey.
If you are a beauty professional looking for products to stock on your kit, these are the stores you want to keep an eye out for:
These stores offer more professional end products as well as discounts for working professionals. From beauty to special effects, items for depotting, cases, sales by bunk, etc. They have all the products you will ever want and need for your kit.
You definitely want to go around and check out all these stores if you’re a beauty enthusiast. These stores are distributed in Vancouver, mainly in the downtown area, so you can definitely make some runs around most of these stores in one day. Except for FiberTek, they are located in Burnaby, so it is a bit more of a trip there. If you are downtown and you want to do a little tour, start at the Hudson’s Bay on Granville Street, then cross the corner to London Drugs, afterwards walk over to the MAC Pro store on Robson Street, it’s the biggest MAC store in all of BC so you definitely want to check that out; then make your way to the Shoppers Drug Mart on Burrard St less than 500 m away from MAC, and lastly, walk down Robson St for less than 5 mins and you will reach an immense Sephora with a great selection of makeup, hair and fragrance products. This little tour is all you need as a beauty enthusiast, and probably, all your wallet can take hehe. I promise you won’t have to go anywhere else, except maybe Fiber Tek if you are a professional – definitely a must. Have fun shopping!
